Simple recipe for broad beans
Recipe ingredients
- 150gr. broad beans
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons Greek extra virgin olive oil
- ½ teaspoon oregano
Recipe instructions
- Rinse the broad beans.
- Fill a cooking basin with water and add the legumes. Leave them for at least 12 hours.
- After 12 hours, remove them from the water and rub them with your hands in order to remove the peel. With the use of knife remove the black part of the broad beans.
- Add the broad beans in a pot and pour water until cover them. Add the salt and place the pot at the stove.
- Set the stove temperature at 2,5/3 and cook for about 90 minutes.
- After the cooking, check if have been cooked and serve.
- Pour the olive oil and sprinkle with the oregano.
- You can eat them hot or cold.
Small tips
The cooking time can vary by the type or the quality of the legumes.
Sometimes the cooking time can be triple than normal.
Warning: There are nutrition restrictions for that type of legumes.
